AEDs Training for Staff
Aug 24, 2024
To ensure the safety of passengers and enhance our ability to respond to emergencies, our terminal recently held an internal training session on how to use Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Sudden cardiac arrest - A hidden threat
Sudden cardiac arrest such as heart attack, irregular heartbeat, or electric shock, is a serious medical condition that can happen anytime, especially in crowded places. In these cases, quick first support in the first few minutes is crucial for the patient's survival.
Recognizing this importance, our terminal has installed AEDs in each boarding gate. We have also organized training sessions on AEDs use for our front-of-the-house teams.
Learning how to use AEDs Effectively
During the training, medical experts taught the staff both the theory and practice of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - a technique that combines chest compressions and rescue breaths to maintain blood flow and oxygen supply during emergencies.
Additionally, participants learned how to use AEDs, which analyze heart rhythms. They practiced placing electrode pads and following the device's instructions to deliver safe and effective electric shocks that can restore normal heart function.
All for passenger safety
We believe that these efforts will enable our staff to respond quickly and effectively to any medical emergencies at the terminal, keeping our passengers safe and improving our commitment to high safety standards.
