Vietjet Air launches the first direct route to Haneda Airport

On October 31st, 2019, new generation carrier Vietjet Air officially opened the fifth international flight from Vietnam to Japan, connecting the coastal city of Danang with the Haneda - central airport of Tokyo. Being the largest airport in Japan and one of the top airport in Asia, Haneda Airport locates in a convenient position with less than 30 minutes driving to Tokyo center. Moreover, it is one of the largest transit points from Asia to other Western countries via extensive domestic and international flight network.

The opening ceremony of the new route took place at Da Nang International Airport with the participation of Mr. Dang Viet Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, Deputy General Director of Vietjet Nguyen Duc Thinh and representatives of Department of Tourism. , Department of Information - Communications and Tourism Association of Danang City. At the ceremony, Vice Chaiman of Da Nang City and leader of Vietjet Air presented flowers and gifts to the flight crews and the first passengers departed for Tokyo and arrived at Da Nang airport. Especially, passengers at the airport are also welcomed with the exciting dance of Vietjet flight attendants and the performance of traditional musical instruments represented of Vietnamese culture.

The Danang - Tokyo (Haneda) route will operate a return flight daily from October 30, 2019 with a flight time of approximately 5 hours 30 minutes/flight. The flight departs from Danang at 18:10 and arrives in Tokyo at 1:00. The return flight takes off at 2:30 from Tokyo and arrives in Da Nang at 6:40. The airline currently operates four other routes between Vietnam and Japan: Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City - Tokyo (Narita) and Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City - Osaka (Kansai).

Giving speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, Deputy General Director of Vietjet, said: “We are proud to offer an additional travel option with economical cost, convenient flight time and easy connectivity. More for passengers from Haneda Central Airport of Tokyo to Da Nang, the favorite coastal city in the world. Together with the four available routes between the two countries and Vietjet's extensive domestic and international flight network, the new route from Tokyo to Da Nang will help complete the connecting round trip from Japan to Vietnam, especially the famous destinations in the central of Vietnam such as Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Quang Binh, etc. and expanded to other places in Asia. In contrast, tourists and people of Central Vietnam now can easily fly to Japan and other countries in the region without having to move into the center as before."
