On 13rd of June, Da Nang Department of Tourism said that the number of visitors travelling to Da Nang was estimated at over 4 million in the first six months, increasing nearly 30% compare to the same period last year.

Of which, air travelers to Da Nang are estimated over 1 million participants, an increase of 40% over the same period last year.

The number of international visitors to Da Nang is concentrated mainly in North East Asia (Korea, China, Japan) through direct flights to Da Nang. The number of international flights this year at Da Nang International Airport is 183, an increase of 76 flights over the same period last year

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, said that because of the International Fireworks Festival with a series of special support programs such as opening sea tourism season, street festival brings the large number of international visitors to Da Nang.

In addition, Da Nang operates more new international routes to ensure the capacity of the International Terminal also makes the number of guests increased. On the occasion of 30/4, 1/5, international visitors to Da Nang directly by air reached 27,450 visitors, rise 77% over the same period in 2017.

New international terminal bring into operation

Inaugurated on May 19, 2017, Da Nang International Passenger Terminal was invested by Da Nang International Terminal (AHT), an investment in socialization of infrastructure of the aviation industry of Vietnam. After bring into operation, the terminal has a capacity of 4 million passengers per year.

Mr. Ho The Anh, deputy general director of Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, said that service capacity is expected to reach 5 million passengers this year.

Built on an area of 21,000 square meters, with a total floor area of over 50,000 square meters, the terminal now has 44 check-in counters, 20 departure immigration counters, 22 immigration counters, 10 boarding gate, 2 taking out luggage island and 4 return luggage island.

Kwon Eung-Sop, a representative of Asiana Airlines in South Korea, said there were more favorable conditions when the international terminal was operationed.
