On February 20, 2019, in Nagoya - Japan, the signing ceremony between Danang International Airport  and Chubu Centrair International Airport (Japan) was held. At the ceremony, there were representatives of 02 airports, Vietnam Airports Corporation, local authorities in Japan and news media reported.

Mr. Le Xuan Tung - Director of Da Nang International Airport emphasized: “The ceremony is a special milestone recognizing the close, long-term and effective cooperation relationship with Chubu Central International Airport to open quickly  a direct route between the two destinations. After this signing ceremony, many trade promotion programs will be organized in a practical and effective manner, contributing positively to the development of the aviation-tourism industry of each country

The two airports agreed on specific activities in the coming time such as: organizing Farmtrip flights in June and November 2019 and charter flights on Japan's Golden Week (end of April and middle) August 2019) from Nagoya to Da Nang to welcome the first visitors of this direct flight. In addition, the two sides also coordinate with airlines, travel agencies, shopping service businesses in the city and at the station to propose preferential policies to create initial attraction for passengers.

Through the signing of a memorandum of understanding, the two sides wish to create a premise to establish a sustainable bilateral cooperation relationship with the immediate objective of opening a regular direct route from Danang to Nagoya in the year. 2020, stimulating the growth of international tourist markets in the two localities, further creating opportunities for investors to contribute to the growth of the aviation and tourism industries of the two countries.
