MANUAL CHECK-IN

1. How to reach the check-in hall

The check-in hall is located on the second floor where you can access the check-in counters through entrances A & B or by using the elevators situated on the ground floor. Additionally, you can easily get into the 1st floor of terminal 2 via the pedestrian bridge from the car parking area, then proceed by walking or using the elevators to reach the 2nd floor.

Note:
In order to enhance the experience for passengers and create a convenient working space for all departments at Terminal 2, starting from December 1, 2023, Da Nang International Terminal will implement control measures limiting the entry of non-passengers inside the terminal 2.
Therefore, for those non-passengers, please follow these instructions to exit the terminal:
● On the 2nd floor: please use the stairs located between entrances A & B to proceed to the walkway on the 1st floor and follow the directional signs to reach the parking area.
● On the 1st floor: please follow the directional signs to reach the parking area.
● On the ground floor: please proceed to the pedestrian crossing near pillars No. 8 and No. 03 to reach the parking area.

2. Find your check-in counter

Check-in counters usually open 3 hours before the scheduled departure time, and close 60 minutes before takeoff. However, please check the flight information display screens for your latest airline's check-in information.

3. Present your travel documents

Present your travel documents (valid passport, air ticket or booking confirmation, and visa if applicable) to the check-in proceeding staff and drop your checked baggage, if any.
Don’t forget to check the correct information on boarding passes before leaving the check-in counter.

4. Regulations on baggage

Please contact the staff at your flight check-in counter for information regarding checked baggage and carry-on luggage regulations. Alternatively, you can also refer to the websites of the airlines provided on the terminal's website (here).

If you have items that need to be declared at customs, you must visit the customs declaration office right before the departure immigration counters, on the left side. (view map)

GROUP CHECKIN

1. Find your check-in counter

After arriving at the departure hall on the second floor, you can easily locate the check-in counters for your flight through the flight information display screens arranged in the departure hall.

2. Do Checkin

If you are traveling in a group of 10 or more, contact the check-in staff at the check-in counter in case the airline has a priority check-in row for passengers traveling in groups..

SELF CHECK-IN

2. Find your check-in kiosk

The self check-in kiosks are located in departures halls A and B of terminal 2 on the second floor. The check-in interface is very friendly and easy to use. The self check-in kiosks are designed to optimize the passenger check-in process and limit waiting time in line.

3. How to do self-check-in

● Step 1: select the airline
● Step 2: select the language and agree to the hazardous items terms.
● Step 3: select your preferred method to search your reservation (passport/the booking reference/e-ticket number/frequent flyer number/PNR/barcode)
● Step 4: confirm the passenger name to be checked in
● Step 5: if you would like to change your seat selection, tap the “SEATS" button
● Step 6: check carefully and fill your contact information in before printing
● Step 7: print the boarding pass
● Step 8: once finishing your self check-in procedure, please proceed to the assigned bag-drop counter to drop off your luggages.

ONLINE CHECK-IN

Depending on the policy of each airline, many airlines allow passengers to check-in online from 48 hours to 1 hour before the scheduled departure time.

1. Wait behind the line in front of the departure immigration

2. If you are wearing a hat or sunglasses, please take them off

3. Present your boarding pass and valid passport

4. Obtain departure confirmation on the passport, take it back and pass through immigration

Automatic Exit Procedure

Automatic exit procedure

With the aim of providing passengers with the most convenient and smooth experience, Terminal 2 provides a system of automated immigration departure gate in the departure area on the 2nd floor. The automated immigration departure gate allows passengers to complete exit procedures themselves, featuring a user-friendly interface for ease of use.

After completing the check-in procedures and entering the departure area, passengers are kindly requested to turn right to access the automated immigration departure gate (view map).

Vietnamese passport holders and foreigners are presently permitted to use automatic immigration lane upon arrival at Terminal 2, subject to a number of conditions. Please make your way to the room located on the second floor, to the right of the exit area, where immigration supporters are available to assist you. Registration and operation of the automated departure gates will be guided by immigration personnel for passengers. (view map)

Security

SECURITY SCREENING

You are required to undergo security screening process as follows:

1. Prepare your passport and boarding pass for inspection

2. Place your hand-carried luggage onto the conveyor belt

3. Remove your outer wear (e.g. jacket, sweater, coat), hat and high-cut footwear and put in trays together with other carry-on items

4. Proceed through the walkthrough metal detectors. Please note that you may be subject to an enhanced security screening process, if required.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items can neither be carried on nor checked:

Explosives

(E.g. Hand grenade, dynamite, chemicals, smoke bomb fireworks, flares or toy gun caps)

Flammable Items

(E.g. Matches, lighters, butane gas, gasoline, paints, drinks containing 70% or more alcohol by volume etc.)

Radioactive · Infectious · Toxic Substance

(E.g. Chlorine, bleach, oxidizers, mercury, drain cleaners, toxic substances, radioactive materials, contagious or biological hazards etc.)

Other Dangerous Items

(Fire extinguishers, Dry Ice, Tear gas etc.)

Firearms and related components including replicas and toys

(E.g. Ammunition, stun gun, toy guns, “nunchaku”, combative weapons, concealed weapons)

Sports and hobby equipment

(E.g. Racket including tennis racket, inline skate, skateboard, hiking stick, deflated balls including baseball, tripod)

Tools

(E.g. Ax, hammer, nail gun, saw, awl, drill. scissors, screwdriver, drill lead, wrench, spanner, nippers, stock prods etc.)

LIQUIDS, AEROSOLS & GELS

Liquids, aerosols & gels must be in containers with maximum capacity of 100ml or less, otherwise shall be rejected even if containers are partially filled.

 

Containers (not exceeding 1-litre in total) must be placed in a transparent re-sealable and completely closed plastic bag.

 

Exemptions can be made for baby food provided that an infant is traveling with you. Exemptions can also be made for special dietary items and medication accompanied with an original letter from certified medical practitioners. These items may be subjected to additional checks at the security screening point.

Customs

DECLARATION

Passengers carrying cash with amount exceeding either VND 15,000,000 or USD 5,000 or equivalent must declare to Customs Foreign Currency Report Desk.

VAT REFUND

Eligibility

You are eligible for a VAT refund if:

1. You are a foreigner not holding a Vietnamese passport;

2. You are not crew member on flights from Viet Nam to other countries;

3. Your purchase is made at an eligible VAT refund shop in Vietnam;

4. Your purchase is accompanied with you on board.

Procedure

1. Choosing a shop

If you are thinking about shopping VAT-free, please make sure that the store where you make a purchase is a part of the VAT refund program

2. Purchase your items

The minimum purchase amount eligible for a tax refund is 2,000,000 VND.

3. Request VAT refund documents

After purchasing your items, present your passport to request the necessary VAT refund documents including the invoice and declaration form for VAT refund issued within 30 days prior to departure date.

 

Please keep the documents and the receipts until your departure and note that incomplete documents may deny your VAT refund eligibility.

4. Get accepted by Customs

Before check-in, present your passport, original invoice, VAT refund declaration form and your purchased items at the Customs office for VAT refund custom inspection (view map) to obtain the customs acceptance stamp.

5. VAT refund

Check in, go through immigration and customs to enter the restricted area on the second floor where the Tax refund counter is located.

 

At the VAT refund counter, present your passport, boarding pass, invoice and stamped VAT refund declaration form to get a refund, which is subject to a service charge at maximum 15% of the refund value.

 

The default refund currency is Vietnam Dong. If you want to get a refund in other currencies, the current exchange rate of the bank authorized to operate the VAT refund counter will be applied.

AUTOMATIC BOARDING GATE

 The automatic departure boarding gate system at Danang international passenger terminal is a convenience helping passengers save time during boarding procedures.

Instructions to automatic departure boarding gate usage:
1. Line up according to the instructions of the procedure officer
2. Wait for your turn at the marked line in front of the automatic departure boarding gate.
3. Place the QR code on your boarding pass onto the scanner.
4. Wait until the door opens.
5. Walk through the door to board the airplane.
